To save your Snapchat text messages automatically for 24 hours, you and your recipient should have the latest Snapchat app. Tap on the user profile photo, click on three dots and select Delete Chats. Now select 24 Hours After Viewing from the pop-up and your messages will be deleted after a day.

- Open the Snapchat app on your phone
- Go to Chatbox
- Search for a Friend you are trying to save the conversation
- Tap on the Profile Photo of your friend
- Tap on Three Dots and select Delete Chats
- From the pop-up, select 24 Hours After Viewing option Â
Now, all the conversations with that particular contact will be deleted after a day.
Is There a Way To Save Snapchat Text Messages Forever?
What if have a conversation that you want to keep with you on Snapchat forever? Then, archiving conversation would be the solution. It allows you to save Snapchat messages for a longer period of time with you.
Below are the steps to archive Snapchat messages –
- Open the Snapchat Conversation you are trying to save
- Tap and hold down on the message you want to save
- From the pop-up, select Save in Chat.
Note: There is a shortcut to it, just tap on the message and it will be archived.
Done, do the same for all text messages you want to save for a longer time on Snapchat. All the archived messages will be visible to both sender and receiver but the sender can unarchive them only.
